Film Club Prokuplje, in cooperation with partners from Slovenia, Romania, Turkey, and Serbia, implemented the Erasmus+ project “Film Frame Without Prejudice”, co-funded by the European Union.

As part of the project, 20 young people from four countries stayed in Prokuplje from September 4 to 10, where they participated in filmmaking workshops and engaged in discussions about prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination, with a particular focus on the position of Roma communities and relations between different nationalities.

During their stay, the participants worked together to develop, shoot, and edit five short films addressing issues of prejudice and discrimination. The films premiered last night as part of the 15th edition of ProFiFest in Prokuplje.

Žikica Jovanović, President of Film Club Prokuplje, stated that the project provided young people with an opportunity not only to learn about filmmaking but also to socialize, discover different cultures, and work together on issues of importance to contemporary society. He emphasized that the participants got along extremely well and, through their joint efforts, successfully produced and edited films exploring prejudice and discrimination.

All project participants received certificates, while the films produced during the project will also be screened in Slovenia, Romania, and Turkey, as well as made available online.
